Practices must have a clear booking policy and reception staff should be suitably experienced to manage PPE enquiries in a timely fashion, as this is an increasingly complex role (Werner, 2015a; 2015b). Failing to gather all the essential information during the initial enquiry can result in errors. Establishing accurate vendor, purchaser and horse details is essential and can be easier said than done.
